VirCru Smart Tag

Making sure your boat is secure is high up on the list of any boat owner. They are valuable assets and often have expensive electronics onboard that we’d like to keep in our possession. Knowing they are secure however, can be difficult to be confident in without something in place. Fortunately, that’s where we step in. The VirCru Smart Tag monitors anything that opens to tell you it’s still secure. 2 suggested uses of this are: monitor door openings, either cabin, baitwell or storage. If they’re unexpectedly opened, VirCru will alert you. Or – monitor your additional items on your boat (tender, outboard, paddleboards) by adding a Tag to everything you want to know is still on your boat. If it’s removed, VirCru will alert you.

Care should be taken when installing the sensor to ensure that it is fully aligned to the magnet on the frame (installation instructions provide guidance), as otherwise the sensor will not function correctly. Installing the sensor itself is as easy as attaching it to a flat surface using 3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fastener, which works similarly to traditional hook and loop fasteners. But utilises a unique shape that ensures a stronger connection and better adhesion between surface and sensor. Once in place, these give a much better grip than hook and loop fasteners and allow installation without damaging your vessel.

And with the VirCru app you can monitor your vessel’s security with a few taps on your smart device of choice. Supported on both android and iOS, remotely monitoring and interacting with your boat has never been easier. The app is necessary for you, the user, to communicate with your smart tag and monitor your system remotely. The Smart Tag communicates with the VirCru Connected Hub which then transfers the data to our servers and on to your app and allows you to control it.
