VirCru High Water Sensor

Taking on water somewhere where it isn’t meant to get wet (or more coming in than going out where it is!) is probably one of the scariest things to encounter, moored or sailing. And it can happen with surprisingly frequency on older boats. With the VirCru High Water Sensor you have the peace of mind that it will never be a surprise. It alerts you if water connects with the sensor. A must have in our books!
(Connects wirelessly to the VirCru Hub)

Water. We love to be floating on it, we panic when it’s flooding the engine room. And unfortunately when this happens, you usually find out far too late. Taking on water anywhere which is primarily dry or a bilge pump that is losing its battle against rising water is a top concern for any boat owner, and with our help, can be successfully monitored.

The VirCru High Water Sensor simply monitors whether water (sea or fresh, but be careful of water from a marine watermaker) has come into contact with it, and notifies you when it happens. It’s as simple as that. The sensor comes with an integrated solid state water sensor on a 500mm cable, connecting wirelessly to your VirCru Hub.

Care should be taken when installing the sensor to ensure that it is at the level you wish you want to monitor it. Installing it in an area where the water level fluctuates would lead to multiple notifications whenever it is submerged. Installing the sensor itself is as easy as attaching it to a flat surface using 3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fastener, which works similarly to traditional hook and loop fasteners. But utilises a unique shape that ensures a stronger connection and better adhesion between surface and sensor.

And with the VirCru app you can check your vessel’s water level (or lack of) with a few taps on your smart device of choice. Supported on both android and iOS, remotely monitoring and interacting with your boat has never been easier. The app is necessary for you, the user, to communicate with your water sensor and monitor your system remotely. The High Water Sensor communicates with the VirCru Connected Hub which then transfers the data to our servers and on to your app. This will then send notifications to your smart device whenever your bilge pump activates. Avoid any nasty surprises when you are onboard or away with this device! As an added bonus, the High Water Sensor also keeps track of ambient temperature where the sensor is installed.
